Meet John!

John grew up in a small town on the coast, a couple hours from Seattle. Upon graduating high school in 2007, he entered the Marine Corps as a military police officer, and was rewarded for top performance at school with a spot at Handlers School in Lackland AFB,  San Antonio Texas. Shortly after that, he was selected for the Combat Tracking Program, and attended another elite program learning how to teach dogs to track human scent. He returned from school to his permanent duty station in 29 Palms, California, with his Military Working Dog, Iggi. John and Iggi deployed to Afghanistan in 2010, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

In 2012, John was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and moved back up to Seattle, where he has spent the rest of his time training dogs full time, or on the side along with working at Microsoft as a Project Manager. He loved the variety that tech work can bring, but ultimately, John's passion lies with teaching people and training dogs.

John's training values lie with flexibility and working towards the dog tendencies. He believes each dog has it's own tendencies, and firmly believes the best trainers are the ones who can adapt to each dog's specific needs. He is familiar with a wide variety of techniques, and his goal is to fill each owner's toolbox with as many tools as possible to promote the optimum relationship between owner and dog. John has experience with all age ranges of both dogs and students, and is also comfortable with a wide variety of issues your dog may have, from basic obedience and potty training, to leash reactivity, detection work, and much more.

In his free time, John enjoys going to concerts and music festivals, game nights with friends, hanging out at home with his two dogs and cat, absorbing podcasts and documentaries, and cooking.
